While growing up, my father had this quote on his table. He still has it by his side. It is one by Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American philosopher who believed in dreams, optimism and practicality. I remember seeing it every day, I remember how he kept telling us its meaning, how he still reminds us of the silent balance that exists between man and nature,

“The world looks like a multiplication-table, or a mathematical equation, which, turn it how you will, balances itself. Take what figure you will, its exact value, nor more nor less, still returns to you. Every secret is told, every crime is punished, every virtue rewarded, every wrong redressed, in silence and certainty.”

I believe in harmony. I believe in hard work. I believe in respect. I believe in ethics. I believe in the small things in life. I believe in doing things right.

This page you read today is a living testament to the dedication, hard work, persistence, trust and love that my family has for me. It is the patience of hundreds of teachers, the helping hands of my colleagues, the support of my friends and above all the blessings of a silent prayer by the ones I hold dear. I am always indebted to them for making me who I am today.
